RE: Check this CG out

A campground website that features a lot of thunder and lightning? Not exactly appealing to me.

RE: Copilot 11

Back in 2007 I bought Street and Trips and there were a few things I didn't like about it so I bought CoPilot 10 on sale for fifty bucks. After learning to use CoPilot and testing it on the road, I went back to Street and Trips. I can't comment on CoPilot 11, but the price difference alone would make me stay with Street and Trips.

RE: yellowstone trip

One thing I do recommend, no matter where you decide to stay in the Yellowstone area, plan on a day trip south to Grand Teton National Park. GTNP is only seven miles from Yellowstone’s south entrance and the scenery in GTNP is spectacular. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w340/Oakman58/Tetons071.jpg width=640

RE: yellowstone trip

If it's at all possible, camp inside the park. Yellowstone is a huge national park and it can take quite a while to drive to the various features of the park. The roads are two lane and animal jams are common. One of the benefits of staying at a campground within the park are the visitors that come through. This bull Elk and his ladies visited the Madison campground almost everyday that we were camped there. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w340/Oakman58/Tetons156_1.jpg width=640

RE: HOLY COW! WOOOO HOOOO

As much fun as this is I hope we all realize it will be back to $4 in no time. As soon as the economy recovers, and OPEC cuts production we are climbing again. Enjoy it while you can... OPEC has already cut production by a million and a half barrels a day and the price continues to drop.

HOLY COW! WOOOO HOOOO

Just a few years ago, I would have been complaining about this price per gallon....now I'm thrilled. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w340/Oakman58/gas003_1.jpg

RE: It floats

You probably saw one of these houseboats. They even have slideouts. http://i521.photobucket.com/albums/w340/Oakman58/trailer011_1.jpg width=640

RE: Day trips from Las Vegas, NV

How about taking a trip to Death Valley? It's an easy day trip.

RE: what does your bucket list consist of ?

My bucket list: See the Grand Canyon. Done it! See Yellowstone NP. Done it! See the Grand Tetons. Done it! Have my picture taken with a Vegas Show Girl. Done it! Ride a ride on top of the Stratosphere Hotel. Done it! Walk in Death Valley NP. Done it! Swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Done it! Swim in the Gulf of Mexico. Done it! Swim in the Pacific Ocean. Done it! Ride in a Submarine. Done it! Visit the Petrified Forest. Done it! Camp in the Rocky Mountains. Done. It! Take an ocean cruise. Done it! Operate a train…wait a minute that was my job so it doesn’t count. Yet to do: Ride in a hot air balloon. Fly in a plane faster than the speed of sound. Parachute out of a plane or hot air balloon. See the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Scheduled: In March we will be going to Egypt to see the Great Pyramids of Egypt and many other antiquities. Probably won’t be able to accomplish: With the retirement of the Concorde, I'll probably never get the opportunity to fly in a plane faster than the speed of sound.

RE: Southern Alabama Campgrounds

I feel you pain ss573, I too am weak willed when the servers keep bringing more food to put on your plate. The original Lambert's is here in Missouri in Sikeston and we always make a point of stopping anytime we're on I-55.

RE: Southern Alabama Campgrounds

In Gulf Shores, after the state park I would choose Island Retreat or Luxury RV parks. A bit farther away from the beach, Gulf Breeze RV park would be my choice. In Foley I would choose Anchors Aweigh RV Resort. Don't forget to eat at Lambert's Restaurant, Home of the Throwed Rolls. If you're looking for great take out BBQ check out Down South BBQ just off county road 10. Both are in Foley. Have fun.

RE: Campground on I 55 and 40

A couple of miles before you get to I-40 and just off I-55 at exit 14 in Marion, Arkansas there is a KOA. It a good clean park but the sites are a bit close together. Just a bit past the I-40 exit and on I-55 there is Tom Sawyer RV park. I've never stayed there but it gets good reviews.

RE: Campground on I 55 and 40

KOA in Perryville MO Don't bother with this one. It is no longer a KOA. It was taken over by new owners a little more than a year ago and the campground has gone downhill fast.

RE: MICROSOFT STREETS & TRIPS 2008

Hi All. I have purchased several years of MS St's & Tps. I am having trouble getting it to update the new construction updates! It keeps telling me to try again later! I try again in a couple of days and it doesn't update and tells me again to try again later! Did Microsoft quite updating the construction updates? Anyone else having trouble getting the construction updates? Maybe they just want to sell you the software and not give the service they advertise with it! I guess I'll have to re-evaluate my next purchase from them. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks. Gary I started having the same problem. I used to get updates with S&T 2008 with no problem. About a month before the release of the 2009 version I suddenly couldn't update construction on 2008. This happened to me last year with the 2007 version. I personally think this is a conspiracy by MS to get you to buy the new version each year.

Our Branson Trip

We spent a few days in the Branson area earlier this month. Overall we had a great time, but I have to say I was disappointed in Silver Dollar City. I thought the $50.00 cost for a ticket was excessive considering the park was only open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. While we will be going to Branson again, we won’t be visiting Silver Dollar City again. We did the noon lunch cruise on the Branson Belle showboat on Table Rock lake. While the food was just OK, the entertainment was excellent. A great way to spend the afternoon. Two other shows that we enjoyed were “Six” (aka the Knudson Brothers) and the Yakov Smirnoff show. Great entertainment and DW and I recommend both of these shows to our friends. Instead of staying in a campground in Branson we chose to stay at Shoals Bend RV park in Forsyth, MO. The park is 10 miles east of Branson via a very curvy two lane road. The park had concrete roads and level concrete sites and was very clean. The owners went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay with them. When we return to Branson we will probably stay here again despite the curvy road leading to it.

RE: Personalized Signs at campsite

Gee, when I'm snowbirding in Alabama and hang my sign I doubt that anyone is going to drive to Missouri to break into my house.

RE: Looking for suggestions.

I'm on my second Wildcat and I haven't had any problems with customer service. It really comes down to the dealer more than anything. If your looking for something in the price range of the Wildcat I'd take a good look at the Sundance. I almost bought a Sundance but my Wildcat dealer came up with a deal I couldn't refuse. We looked at just about every make out there that was in the same price range as the Wildcat and only the Sundance compared favorably.

RE: Rv Foreclosures: Not Immune from Crunch

When people lose their jobs, money for their toys dries up. When InBev takes over AB it is estimated that 1000 people will lose their good paying jobs. I'm so glad I was in an industry where lay offs, corporate take overs, and jobs transferred overseas were ALMOST non-existent.

RE: Digital TV Reception

I'd be willing to bet that you have a cheap tuner in that TV. I have two Digital TVs with two different brand names, an Olevia and a Polaroid. These are low end units but both have excellent pictures. The Polaroid must have a better tuner because it will pick up stations that the Olevia won't. What brand of TV did you buy?
